Terms of Use
1. Agreeing to these terms
By using the LangLab app or this website, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use LangLab. You must be at least 13 years old; if you are under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent's or guardian's consent.
2. What LangLab is
LangLab is a language-learning service in which you practise through conversations with Lina, an AI tutor. Lina is artificial intelligence, not a person — the app tells you this plainly, and these terms repeat it. LangLab is an educational practice tool: it is not a substitute for professional advice of any kind, and no specific learning outcome is guaranteed.
3. Your account
You can complete the initial setup without an account; before your first conversation with the tutor you verify your email with a one-time code sent to it — there is no password. Keep access to your email account secure: anyone who controls your inbox can access your LangLab account. You are responsible for activity under your account.
4. The free trial and PRO
- The free trial includes a limited number of practice conversations of limited length (currently three conversations of five minutes), with every feature enabled. It requires no payment details. The trial is granted once per device, regardless of the account used on it.
- PRO is an auto-renewing subscription that provides your daily practice time (currently two sessions of thirty minutes each day). It is purchased through the app store on your device, which handles all payment; prices are shown before you buy.
- You can cancel any time in your app-store subscription settings; your plan stays active until the end of the paid period. Refunds are handled according to the app store's policies.
- We may adjust plan limits and features; we will not reduce what a paid, active subscription materially provides without notice.
5. Acceptable use
LangLab is for your personal, non-commercial language learning. You agree not to:
- use the service for anything unlawful, or submit content that is abusive, hateful or infringes others' rights;
- attempt to break, overload, probe or reverse-engineer the service, or access it by automated means;
- attempt to extract, misuse or misrepresent the AI systems behind the service;
- resell the service or share one account among multiple people.
6. Your content
What you write or say in LangLab is yours. You grant us the licence needed to process it — including through the third-party providers described in the Privacy Policy — solely to provide and improve the service for you. Delete your account and this content is permanently removed.
7. AI-generated content
Lina's replies are generated by artificial intelligence. Despite our safeguards, AI can make mistakes: a reply may be inaccurate, incomplete or, rarely, inappropriate. Do not rely on Lina for factual, medical, legal or financial decisions. If you see a reply that seems wrong or inappropriate, you can report it from within the app or write to hello@getlanglab.com.
8. Our content
The app, the website, the LangLab name and logo, the lesson materials and the design are ours or our licensors', and are protected by intellectual-property law. We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app for learning. If you send us feedback, we may use it without obligation.
9. Ending the relationship
You can stop using LangLab at any time and delete your account in Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or abuse the service. Sections that by their nature should survive (your content licence for past processing, disclaimers, liability limits) survive termination.
10. Disclaimers and liability
LangLab is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, and our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections of the country you live in.
12. Changes and contact
We may update these terms as the service evolves; the date above always reflects the current version, and material changes will be announced in the app. Questions? hello@getlanglab.com.
