Delete Your Account
The short version: you can permanently delete your LangLab account and all of its data from inside the app in a few taps — no waiting, no emails. If you no longer have the app installed, you can request deletion by email without logging in.
1. Delete from inside the app (immediate)
- Open LangLab and go to Settings.
- Tap Delete my data and confirm.
Deletion is immediate and permanent: your account, conversations with Lina, collected words, lesson progress, streaks and usage history are removed from our systems right away. This cannot be undone.
2. Delete without the app (by email)
If you have uninstalled the app or cannot access it, email hello@getlanglab.com with the subject "Delete my LangLab account", sent from the email address linked to your account. We will verify the request and complete the deletion within 30 days, confirming by reply.
If you never added an email address to your account, your account is anonymous and tied only to the app on your device — there is no way for us (or anyone) to identify it from outside. Reinstalling the app will not restore it, and anonymous accounts are automatically deleted after 18 months of inactivity.
3. What is deleted, and what is kept
- Deleted: your account and learning profile, your conversations with Lina, your collected words and quiz history, your lesson progress and streaks, and your daily usage records.
- Kept: nothing that identifies you. Aggregate, anonymous statistics (for example, counts of feature usage that never include message content) may be retained.
4. Subscriptions
Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription — subscriptions are managed by Apple and Google, not by us. Cancel in your device's subscription settings (App Store · Google Play) before or after deleting your account.
